Patriot Motorsports Custom Oil Cooler Support Bracket

from $1,250.00

PatriotMotorsportsUSA Oil Cooler Support Bracket | Impact bar delete: This bar removes the OEM impact bar that is blocking 30+% of your front grill and allows installation of the Porsche RSR crossflow Air-to-Oil cooler & relocation of the Transmission Aux heat exchanger to the passenger side to reduce airflow being ducted away from the front main heat exchangers and under the car. This part when used as a complete system will reduce front-end weight, a huge reduction in high-speed frontal lift and will reduce drag when compared to other competitors needing a larger front splitter!

When I started on the journey or tracking my ZLE almost every week (living within 15 minutes of Road Atlanta helped), I started with the buying one of the first of the ten people buying the heavy steel GMS Impact bar that again, through development on the race track, had to be cut & modified to work with the proper Porsche RSR Oil Cooler.  Removing the airflow restrictive aluminum OEM Impact Bar and adding a steel bar that had a maximum opening of 22", restricted the full width of the ZL1 grill opening.  So I designed a wider and more developed support system for the oil cooler with a focus of actual track use.  My latest design is made from structural aluminum and reinforced to have zero flex but at the same time, HALF THE WEIGHT of the GMS Impact bar and also offers the option of ELIMINATING the transmission Aux Cooler!!  This is a huge gain in controlling the aerodynamics and adding more frontal downforce by eliminating the huge hole of hot airflow under the front end of the car!  Initial testing at Carolina Motorsports Park, VIR, Road America, Lime Rock Park and Charlotte Motor Speedway have proven this new design will increase downforce without the drag associated with a larger front end splitter.   In testing with Jeremy Lowder’s Pikes Peak ZLE, we determined with the new Oil Cooler Mount and the subsequent closing of the front opening by removing the transmission oil cooler, we could remove the drag inducing Zebulon front splitter and increase the terminal velocities capable of these cars on larger tracks.
