The Patriot Motorsports USA Triple Bypass Supercharger Heat Exchanger for the ZL1 & CTSV does not require larger a coolant pump due to it’s high flow, low restriction design. Another feature is the pressure and vapor bleed design which equalizes the heat exchanger pressure to reduce pump cavitation, aeration of the coolant and the subsequent need to bleed air from the system on the LT4 supercharging system. Not only does this save you time in maintenance but it saves you time on the track with better performance, reduction or elimination of timing pulled under power as well as gives consistency in cooling.
This part has undergone over a year of brutal Track Testing at Road Atlanta, Carolina Motorsports Park, Pike Peak International Hill Climb, Road America, NJMP, Grattan Raceway, Mid Ohio and Virginia International Raceway to prove it is unmatched in SCHX heat removal and lower MATs!
PatriotMS SCHX comes with new top mount brackets, uses the OEM mounting brackets with the addition of passenger side spacers, a 3/8" active bleed hose with a brass ball-valve rated to 400psi, routes back to the intake of our optional Expansion Tank to take advantage of removing any trapped air in the heat exchanger generated by the pump by sending it to the expansion tank automatically.
Since this SCHX is larger than the OEM 14oz capacity unit, it does require removal of the plastic closeout side panels to either side of the radiator area and the full height available to the front of the ZL1. This is a Racing Grade Part and will require a Professional Grade installation or talent to install properly. It is HIGHLY recommended you alter the coolant flow path to a "reverse-flow" to take advantage of the massive efficiency of this unit. In a track environment with multiple WOT blasts for 20-30 minute session tests, coolant temps reductions greater than 50ºF have been reached.
