Brisk Racing Silver Spark Plugs
The massive benefit the LT4 has with today's "SmartCoil" technology, should the Air/Fuel ratio become unstable due to timing or fueling malfunction, the silver electrode is much softer and will melt at 1600º and long before the stainless strap of the plug melting at 2786º Fahrenheit. This is key because it will trigger a misfire Check Engine Light way before it keeps firing at three times the melting point of the Stainless Strap that has found its way to the top of your piston or worse the head where it can bend a valve. Does this give you an insight to why people who are poor at tuning use Iridium and Platinum Plugs? Could it be they are lazy and do not wish to make the needed changes to assure your engine’s safety at the limits?
You will see more infor below, but understand a key point is the Brisk Silver Racing plugs come at .026" pre-gapped. This does not require bending the strap as is the practice with most all other NGK and Internet Popular Spark Plugs which come with a .045" gap. When you are tuning for precision and want to make the most possible power, a microscopic nick upon the plug’s strap can induce a rising hotspot which can trigger premature detonation… some guys know all too much about that! This is why you should NEVER bend your spark plugs so far they actually deflect the spark and block it!
BRISK SILVER RACING SPARK PLUGS – Technical information
Materials
Silver is the best thermal (heat) conductor of all metals
Allows for a wide spark plug heat range
Excellent heat dissipation under max. power
Excellent resistance to fouling under light load operation
Silver is the best electrical conductor of all metals
Most free electrons
Best power delivery
Most powerful spark
Construction
1.5 mm Silver Fine Wire Center Electrode
Low ignition voltage requirements (easier for spark to jump over)
Reduces stress and wear on your coil and other ignition components
Fires properly even if partially fouled, where standard plugs will fail
Excellent for:
Standard and High compression engines
Forced induction applications
Nitrous applications
Methanol/ethanol injection
LPG
Any hard to ignite type of fuel applications
High RPM race engines where is a short time for the ignition coil saturation
Beneficial even for old vehicles with a weak ignition systems and/or excessive oil consumption
Tapered or Cut-Back Ground Electrode
Provides sharp edges for easy spark discharge
Excellent spark exposure to the air/fuel mixture
Faster flame front propagation in the initial stages of ignition due to reduced ground electrode obstruction
High dielectric strength
Fine wire center electrode (not just tip) increases the thickness of insulator between the center electrode and the spark plug shell for higher mechanical and dielectric strength.
Brisk Spark Plug Heat Range Chart
If your LT4 is stock power up to 750whp, I recommend you use the Brisk Silver RR14S plugs. If you are pushing more than 14psi of boost and exceeding 750whp, the Brisk Silver RR12S plugs are another step colder which would be three ranges colder than OEM.
WE ALWAYS SHIP YOU TEN (10) BRISK SILVER PLUGS IN A SET!! You NEVER KNOW when you will possibly drop one during installation or might need a spare at the track. So if you are comparing pricing on this set of plugs, understand this is why ours cost more!
